Kerala man hit by speeding truck while saving kitten on busy road, chilling video goes viral

The 44-year-old was passing by on his motorcycle when he noticed the kitten and stopped to help.

A 44-year-old man in Kerala lost his life while attempting to rescue a kitten stranded on a busy road in Thrissur district. The incident occurred around 9:41 PM on April 8 near Mango Bakery at the Mannuthi Kalathodu junction, according to Manorama.

Eyewitnesses said a cat and her kitten were trying to cross the road when the kitten was hit by a vehicle. While the mother cat repeatedly tried to reach the injured kitten, heavy traffic prevented her from doing so.

Sijo Timothy, who was passing by on his motorcycle, noticed the situation and stopped to help. A viral video shows him bending down to rescue the kitten when a speeding lorry hit him suddenly. The impact threw him into the path of an oncoming car, which dragged him a short distance.

He was rushed to a private hospital but succumbed to his injuries despite doctors’ efforts.

In a similar incident that took place in August 2022, a 24-year-old man lost his life after his motorcycle slipped on the road while he was trying to save a stray dog in Delhi’s Wazirabad. According to reports, he was hit by a pickup van from behind and succumbed to his injuries as he was riding without a helmet.
