When Jaipur police solved a 14-month-old abduction case of Prithvi, now two years old, they did not expect an emotional scene at the station. A video that has gone viral captured the boy clinging to the abductor, protesting and crying, as he was being taken away to be reunited with his parents. The abductor can be seen moved to tears too.
The child can be seen crying despite being reunited with his biological mother, a relative of the abductor as per a Times of India report.
Journalist Rishabh Rajput posted the video on X saying, “A surprising video from Jaipur shows a kidnapped child reunited with police, but instead of being happy, the child hugs the kidnapper and cries. The kidnapper also gets emotional. This scene is complicated and raises questions about how people form connections and deal with difficult situations.”

Prithvi was only 11 months old when he was abducted from outside his home on June 14, 2023. The accused has been identified as Tanuj Chahar, 33, a suspended head constable with the Uttar Pradesh Police.
According to reports, Chahar, who was living disguised as a monk near the Yamuna River in Vrindavan, was arrested by Jaipur police in Aligarh on August 27.
In a different abduction case, Jaipur police orchestrated a surprise rescue for a kidnapped youth, and the video of the operation, capturing his reaction, went viral last week. Anuj, who was kidnapped from Rajasthan and held hostage in Himachal Pradesh, was rescued by the police on his birthday.
