Jaipur police orchestrated a surprise rescue for an abducted youth, and the video of the operation, capturing his reaction, is winning hearts on social media. Anuj, who was kidnapped from Rajasthan and held hostage in Himachal Pradesh, was rescued by the police on his birthday.
According to a viral post by X user Sachin Gupta, Anuj was abducted on August 18. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh from his family. Jaipur police apprehended the suspect, software engineer Virendra Singh, and surprised Anuj by rescuing him from a hotel in Himachal Pradesh.
The viral video begins with police entering the room where Anuj was asleep. The footage also shows another man sleeping beside him. “Anuj, Anuj, khada ho jaa beta, Jaipur Police. Are aa jao na, aapke liye hi aaye hain” (Anuj, Anuj, stand up, son! This is Jaipur police. We’ve come for you),” the officers say in the video. Overjoyed, Anuj waves at the camera.

With over 20,00,000 views, the video has sparked a wave of praise for the Jaipur police. One user commented, “Good work by the officers,” while another wrote, “Salute to Jaipur police.”
According to India Today, Anuj was out with his friends to Nahargarh Hill in Jaipur when he was abducted. Brahmpuri police in Jaipur reached the location soon after Anuj went missing and conducted a drone search.
The report stated identified the main accused behind the abduction as Virendra Singh, a software engineer going through a financial crunch. His old aides Amit Kumar and Vinod Singh, and his live-in partner Jamuna Sarkar, helped him carry out the abduction.
