India is synonymous with exceptional hospitality, with several foreign vloggers sharing their experiences on social media. A recent video of an Indian man insisting on paying for a meal for a foreign visitor is winning hearts on social media. The clip, posted on Instagram by vlogger @jaystreazy, features content creator Jay enjoying a meal with a man at a restaurant.

The video posted on September 21 begins with Jay asking, “Should we get the bill?” followed by, “Can I pay for everything?” The Indian man, however, refuses to let him. “Please, I pay,” he says, repeatedly insisting that he cover the entire bill. Despite Jay’s polite attempts to pay, the man continues to refuse.

At one point, the Indian man even grabs Jay’s arm as he tries to approach the cashier. Jay, maintaining his calm, asks again, “Can I pay the bill, please?” but the Indian man continues to insist, asking him to sit down and enjoy the moment while he settles the bill.

The video quickly gained traction, garnering over a million views and a deluge of reactions. “Two pegs of whisky and Indians are unstoppable!” a user wrote. “When we Indian students abroad walk into cafes or premium restaurants, we often get the weirdest looks. But hey, we’ll never stop treating our guests like gods. who cares ? After all, our ancestors taught us Atithi Devo Bhava,” another user commented.

“Indians are great hosts and become more generous after few drinks,” a third user reacted. “You don’t ask bhai, you have to secretly go and pay for it. That’s the only way now,” a fourth user said.
