Hansal Mehta slams Aadhaar office for delaying his daughter's application process (Image source: @hansalmehta/Instagram)Director Hansal Mehta lashed out at an Aadhaar office in Mumbai’s Andheri East after the senior manager stalled his daughter’s application process. Slamming the officer in an X post, Mehta said the ordeal is “nothing short of harassment.”
“My daughter has been trying to apply for an Aadhar card since past 3 weeks. She makes the long trek to the Aadhar office in Andheri East braving rains, going early enough and the senior manager there keeps sending her back on some pretext or the other. Get this signed, get this document, the stamp is not in the correct place, you don’t have an appointment today, I am on leave for a week… This is most frustrating and nothing short of harassment,” Mehta wrote on X.

After the post garnered significant attention, the official X handle of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) responded to Mehta saying, “Dear Aadhaar Number Holder, Kindly share the complete address of the Aadhaar Centre where you are facing this issue along with your contact details via direct message and we will help you further.”
Many social media users reacted to the post, giving suggestions and tips on filing for an Aadhaar card. A user said, “Go to official aadhar enrolment centre at Vashi station complex. It is by far, the best one. Thoroughly professional and prompt. Their details there on google maps and search.” Another user commented, “I thought post offices still do enrollment. Pls check in your nearest PO.”
“This is because of descenting with the narrative of the current regime. My voting card is cancelled without any prior notice and still pending the fresh application from past 4 months,” a third user reacted.
On the professional front, Hansal Mehta’s The Buckingham Murders, with Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead, is all set to release on September 13.
