Doctor gives condom to beggar woman with toddler on Diwali, triggers debate: ‘Vile and insensitive’

The viral video showing the doctor handing the contraceptive to the woman has ignited a fresh debate on social media.

A doctor recently sparked chatter on social media after he shared a video of him handing a condom to a beggar woman on the eve of Diwali. The now-deleted footage has ignited a series of reactions.

The video showed the man walking up to a beggar woman sitting with her toddler on a sidewalk. The woman, hoping for alms, receives a condom from the man. According to Moneycontrol, the toddler also reached out to grab the contraceptive.

“Best way to help roadside beggar,” the doctor wrote on X.

After the video gained traction, several users slammed the doctor over his ‘distasteful’ move. However, a section of users applauded him. A user wrote, “What a vile and insensitive video. Did you not feel any shame or empathy making it?” Another user commented, “Thats not suffering that’s karma… I agree with doc cause he knew they are going to produce more… y just stop the cycle and help them to sustain life. I know it’s hard to accept.. deep inside u know he was right.. if u can’t survive just don’t produce.”

This is extremely inappropriate and offensive. You made a content out of her suffering. You used it without CONSENT . As a doctor or responsible citizen , Do you think it’s okay to shame her for fun ? It’s shameful enough for anyone , but it’s rather disappointing from a doctor
