Some netizens compared this to a previous event where a group of women had performed kirtan on Delhi MetroA viral video has once again put Delhi Metro in the spotlight, this time for an impromptu karaoke session that caught the attention of netizens. The clip, which quickly gained popularity on Reddit, shows a group of elderly men, affectionately dubbed “uncles” by users, turning a metro coach into a makeshift karaoke lounge. They’re seen joyfully singing the romantic classic Pyar Hua Ikrar Hua from the 1955 Bollywood movie Shree 420, with one of them holding a microphone to add an authentic karaoke vibe to the metro ride.
The video, shot on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro on April 22, 2025, was shared by a Reddit user named “Upstairs-Bit6897,” and has since gone viral.

Some Reddit users couldn’t help but react to the uncles’ carefree vibe, with one saying, “Awh, they all vibing with the most Indian dad expressions.” Others shared their own experiences, with one commenter saying, “10 saal se metro me travel kr rha hun…kabhi kuchh aisa ni dekha, na dance, na romance, na cultural thing (I’ve been traveling on the metro for 10 years… never seen anything like this, neither dance, nor romance, nor anything cultural).”
The incident also sparked some comparisons to a previous event where a group of women had performed kirtan (devotional songs) in the metro.
One user pointed out the irony, saying, “Ironically, people were bashing some ladies who were doing kirtan in Delhi metro. But now people are enjoying this.” The kirtan performance had led to a brief confrontation with security, who informed the women that such activities were not permitted according to metro rules.
The karaoke session, on the other hand, has been embraced by many as a lighthearted and fun moment in an otherwise routine metro ride.
