Several social media users expressed disappointment over the mismanagement of the Railways. “Elect a joker, expect a circus,” a user wrote. “RPF is large numbers is needed at every station to tackle this,” another user commented.

“Strict rules should be put on every entry and exit gates should have ticket checking staff, only then the entry should be given on to the platform,” a third user reacted.

According to the news reports, 45 passengers with reserved tickets missed the train. As per a statement by the East Coast Railway, the massive crowd was due to the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela. The stranded passengers were sent to Prayagraj on two special trains, and the ticket amount for passengers travelling to Delhi was refunded.
