Many people have shared online their “Peak Bengaluru” moment, mostly about people being tech-savvy or unexpected encounters with startup founders. In a similar experience, a man has found out that the payments app Juspay’s chief growth officer was driving an Uber autorickshaw as part of research.
Manasvi Saxena, a co-founder at MoMoney according to his profile on X (formerly Twitter), wrote, “My Uber auto driver tonight was the Chief Growth Officer at @juspay, doing user research for @nammayatri. If this isn’t @peakbengaluru then what is!”
“The interesting part is that I wrote a doc on how to take user calls at @momoney_in today and got to be on the other side of one on the same day,” he said in another post.
On how he got to know about the driver’s real identity, Saxena replied to a user’s comment, “It wasn’t any specific question but the flow of the entire conversation. It didn’t feel like a user interview but a casual chit chat and yet he asked all the right questions. I only got suspicious because the conversation was well articulated else there was no telling.”
The driver has been identified as Shan M S. An MBA graduate from IIM Bangalore, he has been working for Juspay for the past two years.
“I am glad your driver didn’t cancel the ride!” an X user commented. “The CXO getting their hands dirtier to achieve excellence represents top-notch growth and commitment,” said another. “I would call it peak professionalism rather than peak Bangalore. He was doing user research by being on the ground himself. Kudos,” wrote a third.
