Amid heavy rain in Delhi-NCR, a Rapido taxi driver is winning hearts after spending over six hours in Gurgaon's waterlogged roads and severe traffic congestion to safely drop a passenger home without complaining. Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, a journalist, thanked Suraj Maurya, the Rapido driver who stood by her through a challenging journey across Gurgaon, which was brought to a standstill due to incessant rainfall. In an X post, Bhardwaj wrote, "Hi @rapidobikeapp I want to thank ur driver partner Mr. Suraj Maurya from bottom of my heart. He was with me for 6+ hours because of #GurgaonTraffic but didn't complain at all. Dropped me home in these waters. Politely said ma'am pay whatever extra u want. ABSOLUTE GEM!!" Here's some positive news to read amidst all the current negativity." Another user wrote, "Hardworking men do everything to earn a livelihood. Your appreciation means alot to those other men also who work day and night to support family. Otherwise there are few women simply saying they don't need men and move on." "Some cab drivers are absolute gem. They end up melting your heart like anything. Absolute hustlers," a third user reacted. The city saw heavy downpour on Monday, resulting in severe waterlogging and massive traffic snarls, especially on key stretches like the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway, where traffic left many commuters stranded for hours. Social media was flooded with videos showing the extent of the chaos. Gurgaon District Commissioner Ajay Kumar on Monday directed corporate offices and private institutions to consider allowing employees to work from home, and schools to conduct online classes on Tuesday amid a forecast of heavy rain. The advisory on Monday comes as an orange alert has been issued for the district.
