The Dubai princess married Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Bin Radhis bin Mana Al Maktoum last year.

Shaikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum, the daughter of Dubai’s ruler, is hogging headlines as she dumped her husband, Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Bin Radhis bin Mana Al Maktoum on Instagram. Mahra’s official Instagram post reads, “Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce.”

“I divorce you, I divorce you, and I Divorce You. Take care. Your ex-wife,” she added seemingly using the triple talaq, the Islamic practice which has been banned in many countries.

Who is Shaikha Mahra?

Mahra is one of the 26 children of the Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice-president and the Prime Minister of the UAE. With over 4,50,000 followers on Instagram, Mahra gained recognition for supporting local designers and being a consistent voice for women’s empowerment.

The princess married Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Bin Radhis bin Al Amktoum in an extravagant wedding ceremony in 2023. Earlier in the same year in March, the couple announced their engagement through the Arabian Royal Agency.

The wedding reception took place in June and they further celebrated their honeymoon in the Greek islands of Mykonos. “Just the two of us,” she wrote on Instagram.

In May 2024, the couple welcomed their first child and hosted a grand gender reveal party in February. In a picture on Instagram, they were seen together in the hospital during the birth of their daughter.

Cut to July 2024, Mahra removed all photos of her husband from her official Instagram handle. According to the BBC, there has been no public comment from Sheikha Mahra’s husband or her father.
