With more than 8,76,000 views on the post, the video prompted a range of reactions as many users debated the authenticity of the robots. A user wrote, “These look like actresses in suits. Nothing implies these are actual robots.” Another user commented, “You may need to check your eyesight…those are some women in costumes and behind them there are some animatronic puppets.”
“Sorry but money on the two front one being humans — her leg flesh wobbles and they are wear skin tight clothes. Small waist? Corsets. 100 (per cent) humans. Two at the back not doing much, they are real,” a third user reacted. “I had a friend at the scene and it touched the robot’s face. What was shocking was that it had warmth but lacked the detail of the pores,” a user claimed.
People’s Daily Online reported that the humanoid robot can move at 2 metre per second and has advanced three-finger force control hands.
According to Global Times, China’s Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center showcased its new humanoid robot, NAVIAI, at the conference. The robot, with a height of 1.65 metre and weighing 60 kilogramme, showed the audience its many skilled techniques like tea making, speech delivery, and others.
China hosted its 8th World Robot Conference from August 21 to 25 in Beijing. More than 30 major and 80 minor events, and more than 140 competition groups, participants of all ages from more than 7,000 teams across 10 countries came together for the event, China Global Television Network (CGTN) reported.
