In the summer months, many face the nuisance of wasps, which build nests in the ceilings of porches or around nooks and corners. A new trend going viral on TikTok shows how to get rid of wasp nests with a simple hack.
Known as the “gasoline trend”, it involves taking a little petrol in a jar and covering the nest fully with its mouth. When the jar covers the nest, the wasps start collapsing from asphyxiation and die instantly. “This is so interesting. You really learn something new everyday,” says the caption of the video that was tweeted by the user Today Years Old.

“Whether I learned this or not, I will definitely not be trying this lol,” commented a Twitter user. “I’ll take the spray that works from 10 feet away!” said another. “I saw this and can’t wait to try it!” a third user wrote.
A user shared a photo of a huge wasp net and joked that he would need a big drum of petrol.

“I heard someone said that pouring gasoline all over the house and setting it ablaze also solves the wasp problem,” a tweeter joked. “I spray and run. A method that has worked for me for years,” wrote another netizen.
