You must have seen many proposal videos on social media in which people surprise their partners and pop the question at unexpected places. However, this man in the US took his plans to another level altogether when he proposed to his girlfriend even as two police officers pretended to arrest him.

The Eau Claire police department in the US state of Wisconsin posted the video on their Facebook account a few days ago. As the couple was sitting in their car, an officer approached them. He asked the man, Troy Goldschmidt, if his ID card was issued recently and then told him to step out of the vehicle.

Then a female officer approached the vehicle and asked the man’s partner to step out of the car as well. As the second officer was talking to her and asking her where they lived, the man got down on one knee. The woman, who was oblivious to the development behind her, was taken by surprise when she saw him kneeling. Troy then proposed to his girlfriend with a ring and asked her to marry him. The woman couldn’t help laughing as she said yes.

In the comments, Goldschmidt said, “Thank you so much, ECPD! I’m glad you had the video because I barely remember what I said. Neither Moriah and I have been able to stop smiling!”

“This is super awesome! Congrats to the couple and yay ECPD for having a fun stop!!!” a user wrote. “That was so incredible. Nice to see the ECPD having exciting stops too. Nice work,” said another.
