In a remarkable coincidence, a couple in the US welcomed twins on the same day they both were born. Ohio couple Scierra Blair and fiancé Jose Ervin both share the same birthday, August 18. And now, they would be sharing their birthday with their son and daughter born on the same day as well.

The fraternal twins were born shortly after the stroke of midnight at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital, according to People. The boy, Jose Ervin III was born at 12:35 am, just one minute before his sister Ar’ria Lannette Ervin at 12:36 am.

An elated Ervin, 31, told People, “They were my birthday present and I’m good with that.” He said he is stoked and kisses the twins like 30,000 times a day.

What is even more remarkable is the Cleveland couple hadn’t even met during this time last year. The couple told People they never imagined this was how they would be spending their shared birthday. The two started seeing each other a few days after Blair turned 31 and Ervin turned 30 in 2022.

The Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital shared photos of the couple and the newborn twins on Instagram. “What are the odds?! Mom, Dad and their newborn twins all share the same birthday today! A-ria and José were each born just over five pounds at Hillcrest Hospital. Congratulations to Scierra and José on their sweet, healthy babies!” Cleveland Clinic wrote on Instagram.

The due date for the babies was August 28. However, during a prenatal checkup on August 17, one of the babies was found in a feet-down position in the womb. It required a caesarean delivery the same day to avoid complications.

That is when Ervin convinced his fiancé to endure a few hours of extra discomfort to postpone the delivery date to August 18 so the family could share the same birthday. As the mother and her babies were in good health, the doctors also gave the go-ahead to wait.

Earlier, the couple had discussed different ways of celebrating their first shared birthday together. They had planned a trip to the aquarium, attending a football game or just hanging out together for brunch or dinner. What they hadn’t planned was to be in a maternity ward.

For next summer’s bash which would include four birthdays, Blair already has some ideas. “I’m big on traveling, so if I could leave the state or country, that’d be a nice thing,” she says. “We can just do one big celebration, do it all at one time,” Ervin says. “And that would be beautiful.”
