A teen boy dressed as the superhero Spider-Man was lured to a park in New York where he was assaulted by bullies who also broke his nose, a video of the shocking incident is going viral.
According to the New York Post, the boy, identified as Aydin Pedone, a middle schooler from Hudson Falls, was surrounded by a group of teens who taunted him and filmed him. A girl in the group then approached him and tried to hit him but he dodged her. But as the boy tried to regather himself, the girl hit him hard on the nose before walking away laughing. The boy got knocked back against a fence and then wrestled off his mask to show his bloodied nose as the kids jeered on.
Pedone required a procedure to heal his nose and several days later, the girl was arrested and charged with one felony count of assault in the second degree, according to the Hudson Falls Police Department. Her guardian was issued a juvenile appearance ticket and ordered to appear at the Washington County Probation Department.
A GoFundMe page has raised over $10,000 to fund Pedone’s martial arts training, a superhero-themed cookout has also been organised to symbolically take back the park where he was assaulted. Many cosplayers across the country have come out in support of the boy and recorded videos of support and encouragement under the hashtag #aydinsheroes.
This is actually disgusting… I hope there were consequences for what they did to that poor boy pic.twitter.com/vQ2hHEDcU4

The boy’s mother, Shellie Pedone, wrote on Facebook, “My son was attacked for the purpose of bored teenage entertainment, targeted for being different than them, and viciously attacked because of having the courage to stand out from the crowd and be himself.”
“He has that kind of heart that only sees the good in people. Is this the kind of kid that deserves to have his nose broken, unprovoked, and witnessed by nearly a dozen peers standing around to watch, record and laugh at him?
“Parents start paying attention to what your children are doing, who is influencing them while they grow, and how they treat others, especially before they get to middle school,” she wrote.
“Hey everyone, this is my cousin. he is doing well at the moment. he did have to have surgery after the incident. she broke his nose due to having a vape in her hand. this caused her to be arrested for aggravated assault,” commented a Twitter user.

Tell him to keep his head up. Also try to encourage him to take some self defense classes. Boxing/Judo/MMA. He will become strong both physically and mentally.

They should all be held accountable. I’m not sure why people find humor in harming others. It’s really a mental health issue, as some have really lost touch with reality. Really sorry for this kid
