The Guinness World Records in an Instagram post Friday shared about a dog that broke the world record for having the longest tongue.
Describing it a “tongue-tastic” record, the Guinness World Records said Rocky, a Boxer dog, has broken the record for the “longest tongue on a living dog”. Rocky’s tongue measures an astonishing 13.88 cm (5.46 inches).
The nine-year-old male Boxer dog from Illinois, USA, belongs to Brad and Crystal Williams. His owners were quoted as saying, “When we walk Rocky, we often get told how extremely long his tongue. We’re obviously used to it, but others are really surprised to see it.” The dog’s tongue was measured by a vet as he was sedated as a part of a regularly scheduled dental procedure, the caption said further.

“Is he named Rocky because he’s a Boxer?” commented a user. “I have a dog with spiritual problem, how do I register him please,” joked another. “Didn’t another dog break this record earlier this month. Wow!” another person shared.
Only last month, a dog from Louisiana, US, had claimed the record for the “longest tongue on a living dog”. The Labrador and German shepherd mix has a tongue that measures 12.7 cm (5 inch) long. For perspective, this is longer than a soda can.
