Christmas is incomplete without decorating a tree. People around the world celebrate Christmas with their loved ones by gifting each other presents and having a tree adorned with lights, bells and ornaments such as globes, books or gifts. A man in the Philippines, whose neighbourhood was ravaged by a typhoon, decided to do something unique for Christmas. Instead of buying a traditional Christmas tree, the man in Cainta city built his own “tree” out of plastic bottles. Popular page Now This (@nowthisnews) posted the video of Nelson John Sese on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday. Sese built a “seven-foot-tall tree” using Coca-Cola bottles, an old car tyre and wires. He tied it all together and placed a star on top. Turning on the lights, the DIY Christmas tree made from upcycled plastic looked stunning. Recently, a woman shared on X how she received a baked potato as a Christmas bonus from her employer, leaving netizens in shock. Amanda said the hospital where she works had organised a potato bar as the Christmas bonus for its staff. What is even more surprising is that she will have to pay for the potato. “I’m literally getting a hospital potato as a bonus. They also said it has a $15 value so it will be taxed on our next check. Does anyone need an assistant so I can just quit right now?” she wrote on X. She said many people advised her to “start a fight or a riot”, but she said she needed the job.
