A Singapore cab driver accused two Indian passengers of vomiting in his taxi and refusing to compensate him for the cleanup. He shared the details of the incident in a Facebook post that has gone viral. The incident was first reported by the Mothership website.
The driver, identified as Loo Sam, said the two men booked his cab on December 21 and appeared to be in an inebriated state. “These 2 Indian passengers were intoxicated and vomited in the rear seat of the taxi,” Sam wrote in his post, which also included photos of the mess and the passengers.
Sam added that he chose not to accept the money. “I swallowed my pride and did not accept the $10 compensation, especially being called a beggar,” he wrote.
He further criticised the passengers for their behaviour, saying he was forced to clean what he described as an “enormously awful” mess, resulting in lost income for the night. “It was a shame of their actions bullying a taxi driver, referring to myself working through the night making meagre money for the children’s studies expenses and food for the family,” Sam wrote. “Their inconsiderate actions have resulted in my loss of income for the family, which I can’t continue to fetch the next customers.”
Speaking to Mothership, Sam’s daughter said her father drives a cab to support his children’s education. The driver also said the incident left his vehicle smelling of “undigested curry and alcohol” and required immediate cleaning before he could resume work.
