The shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh has again brought the attention to the gun laws in the United States. While a CNN report quoted the Anti-Defamation League calling the gun massacre — which has a death toll of 11 at present — the ‘deadliest attack on the Jewish community in the history’, US president Donald Trump’s comment on the shooting has triggered outrage.
While responding to a reporter who asked Trump whether he was compelled to ‘revisit gun laws’ after the incident, he responded by saying that the shooting had “little to do” with the gun laws and stated that if the synagogue had “protection inside” the results would have been far better.

Clearly, the comment did not go down well with many, who were outraged after hearing Trump’s statement. While some criticised him for blaming the victims for not being ‘armed’ others mocked the US president for his comment.
No need to worry people Trump has the answer. They should have had armed #Jewish worshipers in the Synagogue. That would have solved everything. Too bad the three armed cops who was shot didn’t think of that. I wonder how much is the #NRA paying Trump? #synagogueshooting pic.twitter.com/D6XScF63wx

So in Trump’s fantasy world, this is our new reality:
Armed security in every place of worship.
Armed security in every school. In every grocery story. Every restaurant. Every YMCA. Every JCC. Every bar. Every dance club. Every Starbucks.
There has to be a better idea.

The $20 million @NRA recipient @realDonaldTrump just blamed on live TV right now the Pittsburgh synagogue because they don’t have an armed security. Unbelievable.

Another plug for gun sales. NRA must be happy. https://t.co/r05sIrrZoC

Because not only should schools have armed guards, places of worship should, too. What is this country coming to? 🤯 (insert more victim blaming here) https://t.co/jFcGl2Cv1D

So a religious building that’s a place of unity and peace… should have armed guards??? I’m appalled. https://t.co/uCHVhTowXM

How can you blame the synagogue for not having “protection”? Are you insisting all places of worship now need a security guard for ALL people in this country to feel safe at their house of worship? Where’s that money coming from? But yeah, totally not related to gun laws 🙄 https://t.co/Q4iBdwgI4M
