A heartwarming video of college students surprising a security guard with plane tickets to his homeland has caught the internet’s attention. Shared by Instagram handle Good News Movement, the video captured the emotional reaction of the security guard, who had not met his family in Nigeria for 11 years.

The video opens with one of the students disclosing the surprise to the security guard. The student says, “You are a part of the family and wanted to see your family in Nigeria. So our gift to you is flight tickets to Nigeria.” As the student announces this, the security guard cannot control his emotions. He bows down and sobs while the students surround him chanting, “We love you, James.”

Thanking the students, the security guard says, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ll protect you guys and make sure you achieve your goals.”

Sharing the video, the handle wrote, “@provcollege students surprised security guard James Wednesday night with the funds to travel home to see his family all the way in Nigeria for the first time in 11 years.”

“Once we learned that James had not seen his family in over a decade, that is what kickstarted this for us,” freshman Brandon Reichert said. “We take care of our own and we firmly believe James is one of our own.”
