Shin Chan, also known as Crayon Shin-chan, is a Japanese manga and anime series created by Yoshito Usui. It first appeared as a manga in 1990 and was later adapted into an anime that garnered a colossal worldwide following. The story revolves around the mischievous adventures of a five-year-old boy named Shinnosuke Nohara, fondly known as Shin Chan.
Besides the mere character, Nohara’s house with red and white bricks has always captivated fans. Now, a true Shin Chan fan from China spent approximately $400,000 (nearly Rs 3.5 crore) to construct a life-size replica of the iconic house in Yunduo Farm in Silian Village, Hefu Town, Nanxun District, Huzhou City.
According to Record China, Shen Yuhao spent more than a year turning his dream into reality. The 21-year-old returned to his hometown after graduating from college and decided to turn his hometown into a popular tourist spot. Shen went to lengths to achieve the replica of the house and tracked down the exclusive licensing agent for Crayon Shin-chan in China. His mother bankrolled the project.
The nearly finished house is spread across 100 square metres and has been built with custom-made materials, such as the roof and furniture. The one-of-a-kind project began in July 2024 and is all set to become a popular photography spot for fans and cosplayers worldwide. The house also features an old car that has been transformed into a green car from the anime.
