Robots have transitioned from science fiction to everyday reality. As technology progresses in China, robots are being implemented in every aspect possible– from education to manufacturing. Recently, China introduced the RT-G, a groundbreaking spherical police robot powered by AI capable of chasing down criminals. According to the viral post, it was developed by the robotics company Logon Technology.

The viral video shows an RT-G robot navigating the streets, along with human cops, carefully scanning its surroundings while rotating at a fixed time. Sharing the video on, an Instagram handle @chengdu_china wrote, “China’s just rolled out a spherical police robot that can chase down criminals, shoot nets, and even handle falls from heights! It moves at speeds up to 35 km/h — talk about a futuristic crime fighter!”

However, the video failed to impress several social media users. “What is that gonna do it nearly cannot keep balance at snail pace,” a user wrote. “I once tried to join the police. I had jump over a lot of hurdles during the physical and climb things,” another user commented.

“All it can do take a photo of people and try to match with wanted people and alert cops,” a third user reacted.

In August, a video of humanoid robots with human-like features, which were displayed at the World Robot Conference in Beijing, caught the Internet’s attention. The viral video showed the humanoid “women” robots walking across the hallway and posing for the media.

In 2022, the Museum of Future in Dubai introduced the most advanced humanoid robot to its crew. Named Ameca, she can greet people, offer directions, and speak several languages, reports said.
