Art and pop culture often blur the regional boundaries. Recently, the spotlight turned onto a Korean artist whose artwork on wooden canvas captured the essence of rapper Kim Namjoon known as ‘RM’, the revered leader of the globally acclaimed South Korean boy band BTS.
The intricately carved portrait has been crafted by Han Young Joon, who shared it on his official Instagram page @derkleinejoon. He is based out of Cologne, Germany and is quite famous for his celebrity portraits and art pieces.
His other art works include Taylor Swift, Audrey Hepburn and other band members like Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Park Jimin, Jung Ho-seok and Kim Taehyung. The video captioned, “Carving Art work in progress. Namjoon RM BTS,” has been done on a wooden canvas which was splashed with acrylic paint.
