Most Visited Global Websites in 2025: There are a total of 5.56 billion internet users in the world today, as reported by DataReportal at the beginning of 2025, representing an increase of 136 million users (+2.5 per cent) compared to 2024.

While YouTube, the world’s leading video streaming platform, has users spend the most time, i.e., 20 minutes 47 seconds per visit, Alphabet’s Google remains the world’s most visited website globally as of February 2025, owing to its central role in how users find information online, a data report from SimilarWeb reveals.

Quickly rising up the ranks, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has become the seventh-most visited website in the world in 2025, with users on average spending over 6 minutes, surpassing Reddit and Wikipedia.

Louvre Museum in Paris shut after thieves armed with chainsaws loot Napoleon-era jewels

Thieves armed with chainsaws stole nine pieces of jewelry, including items belonging to Napoleon and Empress Joséphine, from the Louvre Museum. The museum was immediately shut down and a police investigation is underway. French Culture Minister Rachida Dati confirmed the incident and the Louvre remains closed. The robbers used a freight elevator and broke through glass displays.
