Top 10 Industries For Billionaires in India 2025: How did the world’s billionaires get so rich? While many wealthiest individuals belong to the well-known sectors of finance and technology, other industries are also contributing to the rise of billionaires and their fortunes.

Finance and investments continue to lead, holding the highest number of billionaires for the 11th consecutive year, Forbes reported.

Representing 15% of the World Billionaire List 2025, the combined net worth of the industry’s billionaires totals $2.6 trillion, with Warren Buffett being the richest person by far, with an estimated $154 billion fortune.

The tech industry follows next with a total of 401 billionaires, with the founder of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, having an estimated worth of $216 billion, making him the richest in the industry.

With 342 billionaires and a combined worth of $1.1 trillion, the manufacturing industry ranks third in the most popular industry for billionaires. Germany’s Reinhold Wuerth, with an estimated $35.1 billion fortune from fasteners and screws, continues to be the industry’s billionaire.

Fashion and retail is the fourth most common industry for billionaires, with 297 billionaires valued at $2 trillion combined, and Bernard Arnault of LVMH, France, being the industry’s richest individual, at an estimated $178 billion.

India’s billionaire is ranked in the ‘Diversified’ category

In a notable mention, the diversified industry has gained significant popularity among billionaires, with individuals gaining fortunes through ownership stakes across various sectors; presently, there are 210 billionaires in this industry, accounting for 7% of the total list.

The wealthiest person in this category is Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, who has an estimated net worth of $92.5 billion. Reliance Industries has a broad reach across multiple sectors, including petrochemicals, oil refining, retail, telecommunications, media, and financial services.
