Since the invention of the television sometime in the late 1920s, it has served many purposes beyond casual viewing. In the age of OTTs, the TV is also a smart piece of equipment that contributes to the merriment of families, acting as an instant stress buster – especially if you put on your favourite movie or show after a long day of toil.
You cannot deny how a smart TV has become the ultimate source of entertainment for millions. Now, more than ever, with the inclusion of an array of features, it’s more fun than old-school wizardry.
Let me tell you, I am very finicky about movies. A self-proclaimed cinephile, I look for visions of grandeur, fantastic landscapes, and magical horizons even in the drabbest of films. Now that you know what kind of a sceptic I am when consuming content, I want to elaborate on my experience with the Samsung QLED 4K, 55-inch television. This is so far the biggest television set I have ever tried out this closely and here are my thoughts.

The visual experience
The Samsung QLED 4K (modeQE1C) got all my attention the moment I set it up. After spending a few minutes setting up a bunch of OTT streamers, I straight away browsed the movie and showed the catalogue. The TV comes with something known as the 100 per cent Colour Volume and Quantum Dot technology to bring out the most vivid and true-to-life colours. If you enjoy period dramas that offer a peek into a long-lost time with their lavish sets and impeccable cinematography, then this TV is your window to another world.
I did, yet again, a rerun of the ‘Lord of The Rings Trilogy’ and I was captivated by the details the TV produced. The battle sequence from ‘The Return of the King’ released in 2003 actually felt like a recent movie. The greys, blacks, and blue tones are well-balanced to produce lucid images. The Quantum Dot, according to Samsung, uses light conversion to offer exceptional colour quality regardless of the differing brightness levels. A billion shades of accurate colour offering authentic and stunning visuals sets this TV apart.
The TV comes with Quantum HDR and dynamic tone mapping of HDR10+ which adjusts the brightness and produces deep blacks to offer vivid images. These features ensure that each scene is depicted as if directly viewed through the human eye.
A slim wonder
Known as AirSlim, the Samsung QLED 4K is sleek and sophisticated when it comes to design. The minimalism in build is something that truly fascinated me as it blends well with almost any kind of decor. The design also aids the viewing experience owing to its bezel-less build. Aesthetics aside, the design and structure of the TV is very practical.

When it comes to connectivity, Samsung QLED 4K comes with the SmartHub Feature which acts as an umbrella for all your streaming apps and live television. The feature brings all the entertainment access to one easy-to-navigate centre. I found this level of convenience remarkable as it shows the company’s understanding of modern viewers who want instant access to their preferred content.
The new Samsung TV comes with a host of features to make your home truly futuristic. One can customise Alexa and use it to search for videos, songs and all that they usually do on their television. I even mirrored my iPhone 15, and I must say, the process was simple and the outcome enjoyable.
Although the device comes with a 20W built-in speaker, using it with a 5.1 channel sound system or a soundbar really brings out the cinematic experience. The sound system in this TV is designed to ensure that audio matches the high-quality visual output closely.

On Performance
The Samsung QLED 4K is powered by the Quantum Processor Lite 4K which has been designed to optimise the viewing condition and upscale content to 4K quality. This ensures that whatever you are viewing is shown in the best possible resolution. The dual LED technology further enhances the viewing experience by adjusting the backlight colour tone based on the content.

Another unique feature is the Pantone Validation which certifies that the colours display authenticity. Incidentally, this is among the first few smart TVs to have this accreditation. The motion accelerator also makes this an ideal TV for gaming. It is to be noted that the Samsung QLED 4K comes with a solar cell remote, which is a great way to ditch batteries and have an eco-friendly experience.
Verdict:
The Samsung QLED 4K Smart TV is more about intelligent viewing. A sleek and slim design and immersive experience make this a worthy investment. If you are a movie enthusiast, gaming aficionado, or a person who loves to enjoy a television experience with family, this TV promises to enhance the everyday viewing experience.
