Out with MIUI, in with HyperOS. (Express image)Your Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone might be in for a major software overhaul soon. The Chinese tech giant has just dropped its roadmap for the next phase of the HyperOS rollout, and it’s looking fairly extensive.
For those out of the loop, HyperOS is Xiaomi’s fresh new take on Android, replacing the company’s MIUI skin. It made its debut in India back in late February and has already found its way to several eligible models. But now, Xiaomi is gearing up to spread the HyperOS love to a much wider range of devices in the coming months.
So, what’s on the menu? Well, according to the company’s recent X post, a slew of popular handsets are lined up for the big update. These are the Xiaomi 11 Lite, 11i, 11i HyperCharge, 11T Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, and the Mi 10. The Redmi camp will see updates hitting the K50i, Redmi 12, 11 Prime, and the entire Redmi 13C and Note 11 lineups. Even the Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet is getting in on the action.

Once HyperOS arrives, users can expect a nice performance boost and smoother task switching. Xiaomi has also trimmed some of the space occupied by the system, freeing up precious storage space compared to the MIUI days of old. Plus, the system update process should be a much zippier affair.
But it’s not just under-the-hood wizardry – there are plenty of fresh visual treats too. Revamped lock screens, control centers, icons, fonts, and slicker animations are all part of the package. Some apps like Weather and File Manager have even scored full-blown makeovers.
Just don’t be surprised if certain elements feel a tad iOS-inspired.
The one update that y’all have been waiting for.
