WhatsApp to soon let users transfer chats from one iPhone to another without iCloud
WhatsApp will soon get a new feature that lets users transfer their chats from one iPhone without having to rely on iCloud.

If you have ever restored your old iPhone or transferred chats from an existing phone to a new one, you might be aware of how slow and frustrating the process can get at times. Thankfully, WhatsApp developers are working on a new feature that will let users transfer chats from an iPhone to another without using iCloud.
According to a recent report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.9.0.72 introduces a new option named ‘Transfer Chats to iPhone’ that lets users transfer chats to a new iPhone without using an iCloud backup.
While backing up your WhatsApp chat to iCloud can come in handy if you lose your iPhone or reset it, the new feature can come is useful if users don’t have the bandwidth to download their chats on mobile or if you have exceeded the free 5GB iCloud storage limit and don’t want to pay extra for the subscription.
The ‘Transfer Chats to iPhone’ feature can be found in the ‘Chats’ subsection within WhatsApp settings. To use it, all you need to do is download WhatsApp on your new iPhone where you want to transfer the chats, register with the same phone number and old phone to scan the QR code shown on the new device.
Currently, the ability to transfer chats from one iPhone to another without iCloud is available to some beta testers, but the report suggests that it will be available to more users in the coming days, meaning you might have to wait a while before it is available on your device.
