From OnePlus 12 to Xiaomi 14: Smartphones confirmed to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC

On Tuesday, at the ongoing Snapdragon Summit 2023, Qualcomm unveiled its latest flagship mobile processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, featuring newly developed NPU, capable of running on-device generative AI models.

Following the chip’s announcement, several Android OEMs wasted no time in revealing their upcoming smartphones that will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and here is the comprehensive list of these exciting devices:

Xiaomi 14

Xiaomi at the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 launch stage confirmed that its upcoming flagship — Xiaomi 14, launching on October 26 in China will be the world’s first phone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. In fact, Xiaomi has also developed a new generative AI model with over 6 billion parameters, which can natively run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered Xiaomi 14, which will also ship with the brand new HyperOS, an MIUI replacement.

OnePlus 12

OnePlus is one of the first brands to confirm that its upcoming flagship phone — OnePlus 12 will be based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The company has also confirmed that the phone will include a new 2K OLED display by BOE that can achieve over 2600 nits of peak brightness along with enhanced HDR capabilities. The OnePlus 12 is expected to go official in the next few months.

Oppo Find X7 Pro

The Oppo Find X7 Pro is likely to be similar to the OnePlus 12 and has been confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Just like previous generation Oppo Find flagship smartphones, the Find X7 Pro could be limited to select markets.

iQOO 12

The iQOO 11 was the first phone to launch in India with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and the iQOO 12 could also be one of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphones that could launch in the country. Even in terms of pricing, the iQOO 12 could cost a bit less than other Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC-powered devices.

vivo X100+

The vivo X100+, which is speculated to be a camera-centric flagship smartphone is also confirmed to be based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Just like its predecessor, the Vivo X100+ is likely to include a premium camera setup with a Zeiss lens setup.

Realme GT5 Pro

It has been a while since Realme launched a true flagship smartphone, and the company has now confirmed that the upcoming Realme GT5 Pro will be based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The smartphone is also likely to pack other technological innovations, which include a super-fast charging system, premium design, and cutting-edge display technology.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series

While Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for its next generation, the upcoming Galaxy S24 series of smartphones is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, at least in select markets.

Other flagship phones to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Brands like Motorola, Asus (ROG Phone), Honor, Redmi, RedMagic, Sony, MEIZU, NIO, Nubia, and ZTE have also confirmed to launch phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
