Last year, Sony launched the PlayStation 5 Slim, a light and slightly compact version of the PlayStation 5. Recently, the video game maker announced that the PlayStation 4 Slim will be available in India from Rs 44,990. Both the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 5 Slim have the same processor and chipset, meaning you will get the same performance irrespective of whether you go with the newer or older version.

However, the new version does bring some upgrades to the design and the storage, but how different is it from the normal version? If you are confused between the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 5 Slim, here’s a quick comparison that might help you if you should spend extra or stick with the older version.

Design

The main difference between the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 5 Slim is in terms of design. Storage

Another area where the two consoles differ is in terms of storage. While the 2020 PlayStation 5 comes with an 825GB SSD that offers 660GB of usable space, the Slim version comes with 1TB of SSD storage with approximately 825GB of usable SSD storage. So if you need some more space on your PlayStation 5, the Slim version is definitely the clear winner.

PlayStation 5 vs PlayStation 5 Slim: Which one should you buy?

The PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition is priced at Rs 44,990 whereas the PlayStation 5 Slim Disc Edition costs Rs 54,990, the same as the normal slightly bigger PlayStation 5. Instead of the normal version, we recommend you purchase the PlayStation 5 Slim Discless Edition if you don’t mind the lack of an integrated disc drive.

However, those who prefer physical copies of games can check out the PlayStation 5 Slim with the add-on disc drive, since it costs almost the same as the normal version but offers additional storage and a much slimmer profile.
