Oppo and Snapchat, which have grown cosy of late and introduced a number of exclusive features on Oppo smartphones, have now announced a couple of new goodies for the upcoming ColorOS 14 update.

The first, geared towards frequent Snapchat users, allows users to launch the Snapchat camera directly from the lock screen, letting them use the app without the need to unlock the phone. This should come in handy for users who enjoy using Snapchat filters.

To set a Snapchat camera shortcut on your lock screen, navigate to Settings, select ‘Lock Screen,’ choose the option to add shortcuts, Select Snapchat, and place it on the lock screen.

The second feature lets users add Snap Map to Oppo’s Shelf Card which can be accessed by swiping down on the home screen. The Snap Map widget will let users pin a friend’s location and view their latest Snaps, among other functions. Snapchat says that with this feature, the app becomes one of the first third-party services to be included in Shelf.

To add the Snap Map widget on Oppo’s Shelf Card, swipe down to access the Shelf, choose “Add Widget,” and select Snap Map to pin a friend’s location for easy access.

“By integrating smart, human-centric features crafted alongside our partners, we are offering a smarter and smoother operating system, enabling users to immerse themselves more deeply in the customised Snapchat experience,” said Haizhou Zhu, ColorOS Senior Product Manager, Oppo.
