Reliance Jio has introduced a new add-on data pack that offers 25 GB of 4G data with a validity of 24 hours for just Rs 49. This plan is also marked to offer unlimited data; however, due to the Fair Usage Policy (FUP), the speed will be reduced to 64Kbps post the allocated limit of 25 GB.

The new plan has been offered as a “Cricket Plan” to cater to users who want to stream the ongoing TATA IPL 2024 on their smartphones. Similarly, users can also connect their laptops and smart TVs via Hotspot to stream IPL with up to 4K resolution.

Airtel offers a similar plan. While it costs the same (Rs 49), Airtel only offers 20 GB of 4G data with one-day validity. Vi also has a similar plan, which again costs Rs 49. However, Vi only offers 6 GB of data, which is significantly less than what Airtel and Jio are offering.

This is just a data plan with no calling or SMS benefits, and this plan is only valid for 24 hours with no option to carry forward the leftover data. If you own a 5G smartphone and you are an Airtel or Jio subscriber, then you might not need these plans, as both telcos offer free unlimited 5G data in most cities.

Jio also has a plan for Rs 222, which offers 50 GB of data with the validity of your regular plan. To use this plan, a user needs to have a base plan with additional validity. Airtel also has a plan for Rs 301, which also offers 50 GB of 4G data along with a Wynk Premium music subscription.
