Instagram seems to be down for select users across the globe, and users are reporting various issues, one of them being not able to refresh the feed. According to Downdetector, over 100 users are currently reporting these issues.

Instagram or Meta is yet to acknowledge the outage.

Right now, it looks like the issue is limited to Android users as there are not many outage reports from iPhone or web users. According to the reports from X, previously known as Twitter, some users are unable to refresh the feed, and for others, the entire Instagram gallery has gone blank. A few users are also reporting issues related to the direct message feature.

According to Downdetector, 66 per cent of these reports come from the app with 27 per cent of these reports being related to the feed and only 7 per cent of these reports have appeared from the website.

Currently, it’s unclear what has caused this outage. The photo and video-sharing platform from Meta has faced quite a few outages recently, where, in July, the service was down for many a few hours, and was inaccessible to many users. Back in March, the service was down for 1000s of users, again, the company fixed the issue in a couple of hours.
