Adobe on Thursday launched its new Adobe Express app in beta for Android and iOS mobile devices with the company’s Firefly generative AI capabilities. The app comes with Firefly Generative Fill, text-to-image and text effects along with video editing features for mobile workflows.

“Millions of users around the world are turning to Adobe Express to create more content than ever before – more than doubling the number of creations ever made in just the last year. The new Adobe Express mobile app puts Firefly – our generative AI models – front and center, giving users unprecedented ways to create videos, designs, photos and images that stand out,” said Govind Balakrishnan, Senior Vice President, Adobe Express and Digital Media Services at Adobe, in a press statement.

Here are some of the features of the Adobe Express app, according to the company:

Text to Image: This will allow users to create new looks for their projects by generating new images with Firefly
Generative fill: This lets users insert, remove or replace parts of image, which could mean people or objects. The app automatically fills out the area of the image it is replacing.
Text effects: This feature can be used to generate attention-grabbing text and messages with styling generated by AI.
Video: Adobe Express will offer templates, images and music, animations and will even combine video clips and generate real-time captions.
Expanded content and templates: This will let you use many video and multipage templates, including Adobe Gonts and Adobe Stock videos, music tracks and image and design assets.
Quick Actions: This lets you edit photos and videos, remove backgrounds and resize images in a few clicks.

The Adobe Express app is now available on iPhones with iOS 16 or above and select Android phones with atleast 4GB of RAM and running. iOS users will have to sign up for the beta because of Apple’s restrictions on the number of beta users, while Android users will be able to download the app from the Google Play Store.
