Prisma has fixed issues with its servers as they are now working faster than before. While the same can’t be said for iOS; the processing speed on Android has definitely become better.
Prisma has updated its iOS app with several new features like cropping and split-screen. “Hey guys! Have you checked out our new split effect yet? Like if you want it on Android,” Prisma wrote in a Facebook post. The new split-screen feature can be used in three different ways – horizontally, diagonally and vertically. It allows users to keep one part of the picture in its original form and another part with Prisma filter applied. There’s also a new option that now allows cropping an image. Users can crop a picture after they are done with applying a filter. Also, looks like Prisma has fixed issues with its servers as they are now working faster than before. While the same can’t be said for iOS; the processing speed on Android has definitely become better.
Prisma co-founder and CEO Alexey Moiseenkov, a few days ago, had hinted the company is working on new features, including filters for videos. Moiseenkov had posted a Facebook Live video with a black and white Prisma filter, suggesting the filters could come to videos soon.
Prisma is one of the most popular photo-editing apps right now. The company recently announced that over 1 billion pictures have been edited using Prisma since its launch. “Over 1 billion photos have been Prismed,” it wrote in a Facebook post. While it was only launched for iOS users initially; it is now available for Android users as well.
Just within days of launch of Prisma, several new apps offering similar filters have been rolled out. One of them is Artisto that lets users apply artistic filters to 10-second videos. The app is available on Android and iOS. Artisto, just like Prisma, relies on neutral networks to convert media into works of arts, following the styles of Van Gogh and Picasso. Artisto app, however, appears to have a limited number of filters and UI.
