Samsung gave us an early glimpse of its next mobile operating system––One UI 7––at its annual developer conference. Based on Android 15, the upcoming iteration of the custom Android OS will be coming to the Galaxy Z, S, A, M, and F series of smartphones. However, this time around, the stable update will only be released in 2025 alongside the launch of the Galaxy S25 series of smartphones.

Similarly, Samsung is also preparing the beta build of One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24 series, which is expected to be made available by the end of 2025, and is meant for developers and enthusiasts who like to get an early glimpse at One UI 7 before everyone else.

What’s new on One UI 7?

Although Samsung is yet to unveil the features and capabilities of One UI 7, leaks and rumours indicate that it will include several new UI elements, including a new stock icon pack, and it is also reported to be the fastest and smoothest OS release from Samsung.

Besides, One UI 7 is also said to introduce a customisable lock screen and new widgets and is also reported to include Apple Intelligence-inspired AI features. Last but not least, the device is also anticipated to include a new charging animation. Besides, it will also include all the new Android 15 features, including enhanced theft detection, and more.

One UI 7-supported devices

One UI 7 will come to over 50 Samsung Galaxy devices, which include flagship, mid-range, and entry-level smartphones, foldable devices, and tablets. Samsung currently offers up to seven years of software updates for select devices and up to five years of software updates on some devices, while some budget smartphones will receive two major OS upgrades.

The update will roll out in phases.
