Samsung launches Galaxy M17 with 6 years of OS updates, starts from Rs 12,499

Samsung has launched the Galaxy M17, its newest entrant in the popular Monster series. Powered by the Exynos 1330 chipset, the latest from the South Korean tech giant also comes with useful AI features.

The Galaxy M17 has a large 6.7-inch sAMOLED screen with FullHD+ resolution. Protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, the screen can go up to 1,100 nits in high brightness mode. The dual-SIM phone offers IP54 dust and splash resistance and is just 7.5mm thick and weighs 192 grams.

Running on OneUI 7 based on Android out of the box, Samsung says the Galaxy M17 will get 6 years of OS updates and security patches. You also get Gemini Live, Google Circle to Search as well and some on-device features like Voice Mail, Knox Vault and Voice Focus.

On the back, you get an elliptical camera island that houses a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro shooter. As for the front, it has a 13MP selfie shooter enclosed in a teardrop notch. In terms of connectivity, the mid-range device supports Bluetooth, NFC and Wi-Fi. All of this is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging.

Available in two colourways – Moonlight Silver and Sapphire Black, the base variant of the Galaxy M17 that comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs 12,499, while the 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM versions of the phone can be purchased for Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,499 respectively.

It will go on sale starting October 13 and will be available on Samsung’s official website, select retail stores and Amazon. Interested customers can also check avail interest-free EMIs of up to three months with select credit and debit cards.
