Samsung announces Galaxy F15 with four generations of promised Android OS upgrades

Samsung on Monday announced its latest budget 5G smartphone — Galaxy F15, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC. The device comes in two memory variants with 4/6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage with a starting price of Rs 12,999.

This is one of the most affordable smartphones in the country that promises four years of Android version upgrades and five years of security updates. The smartphone currently ships with Android 14 OS-based OneUI 6 and will receive updates until Android 18. On the flagships like the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung offers up to seven years of software support.

The Samsung Galaxy F15 will be available via Flipkart and the company’s official website starting at 7 PM today with a starting price of Rs 11,999 for the base model and Rs 13,499 for the fully specced variant, which includes a Rs 1,000 discount for HDFC Bank card users. The Galaxy F15 comes in Ash Black, Jazzy Green and Groovy Violet colours.

The Samsung Galaxy F15 comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a V-shaped notch (Infinity-V) with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 6100+, a 6nm processor with 4/6 GB RAM and 128 G of internal storage. There is also a microSD card (dual hybrid slot) which supports memory expansion with up to 1 TB.

At the rear, the device has a triple camera setup with a 50 MP primary camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2 MP macro lens. There is a 13 MP selfie camera at the front, and there is also a microSD card slot. A 6,000 mAh battery fuels the device with support for 25W fast charging via the USB-C port, and the fast charger is not included in the box.
