Manushi Chhillar is finally on YouTube, and for her first upload, she shared a video documenting her extensive morning routine. The model-turned-actor also revealed the hidden secrets behind her healthy, glowing, radiant skin. Here’s a quick look at her detailed 7-step routine broken down:

Step 1: Honey mask

She starts by washing her face with plain water, then applies a honey mask for extra “hydration and glow.”

Dr Monica Bambroo, head of dermatology & cosmetology at Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon, explained that honey is a natural antibacterial that keeps the skin moisturised, making it ideal for dry and acne-prone skin.

Step 2: Hydrogenated water

Manushi Chhillar then moves on to hydrogenated water, which is the first thing she drinks every morning.

Step 3: To-Do list

Next, she plans her tasks for the day by writing a to-do list. “I like to plan out every minute of my day. If you go through my calendar or my phone, you’ll see how long I want to take a shower, and how long it will take me to have breakfast. I hate being late; it really stresses me out.

Dr Rimpa Sarkar, psychologist and founder of Sentier Wellness, said that writing down your tasks for the day, also known as scripting, helps by clarifying intentions or goals and focusing energy. “Writing your goals signals to your subconscious that these goals matter, keeping you motivated. It also activates the reticular activating system (RAS) in the brain, making you more aware of relevant opportunities,” she told indianexpress.com.

Step 4: Ozonated glycerin

“Anyone who knows me knows that I’m horrible with late nights. I will be at my most cranky self,” she shared, before rinsing off her honey face mask. The next step in her skincare routine was ozonated glycerin, a unique fluid created when ozone gas is infused into glycerin, yielding a product with distinct chemical and functional properties.

“It’s something my dad introduced both my sister and me to. Glycerin is super hydrating,” she said, adding that she hates using heavy skincare before working out. Glycerin is an excellent choice for those with acne-prone skin.

Step 5: Pre-workout drink

Before hitting the gym, Manushi Chhillar makes a morning drink by mixing malic and ascorbic acids, dissolving them in water, and adding a bit of potassium chloride and iodine. “A disclaimer, guys, all of these have been prescribed to me by my doctor, so please don’t take them on your own,” she warned her audience. The last ingredient in her drink was methylene blue, again prescribed by her doctor.

“I have seen a very subtle change in my energy levels, the way my skin looks, and the inflammation in my body just doesn’t show suddenly anymore. It’s a small change, and these small changes really, really count,” added the Miss World 2017 winner.

Step 6: Pre-workout meal

While most people expect her pre-workout meal to be something fancy, she revealed it is just a little dal chawal with ghee. “It’s the right amount of complex carbs and fat that I need for my workout. I tend to shed a lot of weight, so it gives me the right amount of energy.”

Step 7: Post-workout skincare

Finally, for her post-workout skincare, Manushi Chhillar uses moisturiser on clean skin and under-eye cream, topping it all off with a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
