OnePlus 3 is projecting itself as the flagship killer
OnePlus is all set to launch its 2016 flagship, OnePlus 3 globally tonight. The event will be held in VR like last year and OnePlus has made its own VR headset called LoopVR in tie-up with AntVR. OnePlus 3 is expected to launch in two variants with 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM. The smartphone, like all other flagships this year, will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.
OnePlus 3 is rumoured to drop the trademark Sandstone Back panel and would come with a metal unibody design. In an interview with IndianExpress.com, OnePlus India GM said, “OnePlus 3 will be a winner.” OnePlus 3, for the first time, will come invite free and based on an ad printed in an Indian newspaper today, the device will be priced at Rs 27,999 for the 6GB RAM variant. 9.59 pm: Get ready for the OnePlus 3 experience. OnePlus is launching the smartphone via an event called The Loop, and users need to have a VR headset for an optimal 360 degree experience. Users can download the OnePlus 3 Launch: The Loop app from the Google Play store and start watching.
10.00 pm: OnePlus has also created its own VR headset, partnering with ANT-VR and the company has given away some of these headsets at Re 1 on Amazon India.
10.05 pm: So apparently the launch has started, but hey guess what the Loop launch app is now updating. As soon as the timer clock ended on the OnePlus app, it went into update mode and its a 604 MB update to watch the launch. Guess we’ll have to wait till the download finishes to see what OnePlus has planned with their new phone.
10.08 pm: Based on OnePlus’ Twitter account, you’ll get to see Carl Pei as a hologram in the Loop VR launch app.

10.10 pm: OnePlus is holding a give away contest for the OnePlus 3 as well. India users have a chance of winning the device by giving three reasons as to why the smartphone is so spectacular. Users can also buy the smartphone directly from the Loop app as well. It is priced $399 globally and Rs 27,999 in India for the 6GB+64GB RAM version,

10.36 pm So the OnePlus 3 is priced at $399 and users have the option of buying it from the Loop app. Sadly that option does not extend to India users. However the OnePlus 3 goes on sale in India on June 15 at 12.30 AM on Amazon India, which is just a couple of hours away. On Amazon India, OnePlus 3 is priced at Rs 27,999.
