LG G5 SE, which was tipped to launch sometime later has been confirmed by LG’s official Russian website. The device is basically a lower specced version of LG’s 2016 flagship smartphone G5.
According to 9to5 Google, which spotted the LG Russian website’s product information page, the smartphone features 5.3-inch Quad HD display and is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with LG’s own UI on top.
LG G5 SE features same 16MP/8MP dual camera setup seen on LG G5. The LG G5 SE comes with an 8MP front-facing camera.
Even the design of the device is similar to G5. It uses same rear button placements and rear fingerprint scanner. The smartphone uses USB Type-C port for charging but skips on wireless charging.
The difference between LG G5 and LG G5 SE lies in their processor and system memory. LG G5 SE is powered by Qualcomm’s lower-specced Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. LG G5, on the other hand, was powered by Snapdragon 820 processor and had 4GB RAM.
LG G5 SE is also a modular smartphone with support for various modules like CAM Plus or DAC Hi-Fi unit. The pricing and other availability in other parts of the world in not yet clear.
