One of the pinkest fully-functional feature phone. (Image credit: HMD)After unveiling their first collaboration with Mattel in February at the Mobile World Congress, the HMD Barbie flip phone is now available. This device might be the “pinkest” phone ever, and the company calls it “a real phone without social media.”
The Barbie flip phone is presented in retail packaging that resembles a jewellery box and includes various pink-themed accessories. Priced at $129, it’s slightly more expensive than other similar flip phones like the Nokia 2260 4G and is also based on the same hardware. As of now, there is no information on how much the HMD Barbie flip phone will cost in India.

The Barbie flip phone is a feature phone, meant for making calls and sending SMSes. It also has apps for music streaming, and a camera to take basic pictures.
Like some of the more recent Nokia-branded feature phones, HMD is pitching the Barbie flip phone as a device that will aid users’ “digital detox” endeavours. But in this case, it can be further stylised by colourful cases and accessories, the way Barbie dolls can be.
This flip phone has a highly reflective mirror-like finish on the outside with a tiny 1.77-inch monochrome cover display that shows time and date, and a secondary coloured 2.8-inch screen.

Every aspect of the flip phone is designed to match the Barbie theme, including embossed Barbie-related emojis on the keyboard, a big Barbie logo, two additional easy-to-replace back covers and a beaded lanyard with customisable charms. It also includes a set of Barbie stickers, gems, and a pink-coloured cleaning cloth.
Other prominent features of the Barbie flip phone include a 0.3 MP camera with an LED flash, support for dual SIM with 4G networking capabilities, a 1,450 mAh battery with a USB-C port for charging, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Powered by the Unisoc T107 chip, the phone offers 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of internal storage with a microSD card slot with support for up to 32 GB. The phone runs on S30+ with a “Barbie-themed user interface, Easter eggs, and apps including Malibu Snake, Digital balance tips, and Barbie meditation,” as per the company’s website.
