Exactly a week after the “It’s Glowtime” iPhone 16 series launch event, Apple rolled out the first stable build of iOS 18 for more than 25 different iPhone models and iPadOS 18 for over 10 different iPad models on Monday. First showcased at WWDC 2024, the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 updates bring in new customisation features along with Apple Intelligence to select models.

The iPhone SE 2 Gen 2 and the iPhone XS/XR are some of the oldest iPhones which are eligible for the iOS 18 update, similarly, the iPadOS 18 update is available for iPads as old as the 7th Gen iPad.

While the update is available for a wide variety of iPhones and iPads, the feature set will vary from device to device, where the new AI features also known as Apple Intelligence would come to the iPhone 15 Pro series and the latest iPhone 16 series via a future iOS 18.1 software update and the iPads with the M series chip.

iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, the latest software updates from Apple, enable users to completely customise their iPhones and iPads as per their preference, which includes the ability to change the app icon colour as per the wallpaper, the ability to place an app icon anywhere on the home screen, customisable quick settings or control centre, and more.
