LinkedIn has more than 1 billion users worldwide. (File Photo)Social networking platform LinkedIn, which has over 1 billion users worldwide is working on a new feature that will let users play games while commenting on other people’s posts and hunting jobs. While the decision has been welcomed by many, some think that video games on LinkedIn will distract users.
According to a post by Nima Owji on X (formerly Twitter), who keeps tabs on upcoming features of different apps, a piece of code in a recent version of the LinkedIn app suggests the company is currently experimenting with three games – Queens, Inference and Crossclimb.
BREAKING: #LinkedIn is working on IN-APP GAMES!
There are going to be a few different games and companies will be ranked in the games based on the scores of their employees!
Pretty cool and fun, in my opinion! pic.twitter.com/hLITqc8aqw

The tipster also says that companies will be ranked based on the in-game scores of their employees, meaning the higher you score, the higher your current firm will rank. While a LinkedIn spokesperson confirmed to Tech Crunch that it is indeed working on bringing games to the platform, there is no launch date for the feature.
They also confirmed that the images shared in the post are not from the latest version of the app but refused to comment when asked if and how Microsoft is involved in the development of the new functionality. While some may think that games do not belong on LinkedIn, some say education-based games may help people skill up and learn new things while playing.
