Apple’s AirPods are an instant hit, and the company is naturally working on the second-generation model. While there is no information on the official release, the latest leaks suggest that we are closer to the official unveiling of the AirPods 2. Industry leaker Ice Universe, who has an unparalleled record of accurate leaks, said on Twitter that “Apple will definitely launch AirPods 2 this year”.
The launch of the AirPods is nothing less than a suspense. Apple was rumoured to show off the new AirPods at its October 30 event in New York, but that didn’t happen. Rumours claim that Apple will launch the second-generation AirPods either towards the end of 2018 or early next year. There’s no word yet on the price, but they will likely to be on a premium side and have a higher price than the current $159 (or approx Rs 11,547) AirPods.
The AirPods 2 are going to be massively improved over the original AirPods, which were first released in 2016. The second-generation AirPods are expected to come with a better battery life, water resistance, and noise-cancellation features, according to sources close to Bloomberg. The next-generation wireless earbuds will allow you to activate Siri by your own voice.
