Slack GPT announced with conversation summarisation and customer insights features

Business-oriented messaging platform Slack is hopping aboard the generative AI bandwagon with a new conversational AI experience called Slack GPT. Slack GPT will include the ability to use generative AI app integrations, different language models, and will provide consumer data insights. Let’s take a look at what it has to offer.

AI will be built directly into Slack, with AI-powered conversation summaries and writing assistance available with just a click. Customers will also be able to build no-code workflows that embed AI actions with simple prompts at each step, allowing them to automate processes even without coding knowledge. They can also securely integrate an LLM from companies like OpenAI and Anthropic.

Slack is also including a new conversational interface with the new Einstein GPT app on Customer 360, which will bring insights from real-time customer data.

Slack also says that its AI integrations would help customers get up to speed on unread messages in just one click. They would also be able to ask Slack GPT to provide a summary and next steps.

The platform is working on including AI assistance in Slack’s message composer and the newly launched Slack canvas, allowing customers to easily distill content, adjust the tone, and more.

While the Claude app for Slack is now available, ChatGPT app for Slack is in beta. Meanwhile, Workflow Builder with Slack GPT AI connectors will be available this summer. Lastly, Slack GPT native AI capabilities and the Einstein GPT app for Slack are still in development.
