Virat Kohli hits first hundred of IPL 2024 for RCB vs RR, records highest score with eighth IPL century

Kohli eventually notched up his joint-highest IPL scores, remaining unbeaten on 113 off 72 balls as RCB totalled 183 for three in 20 overs.

Kohli’s century is his eighth in the IPL, a record among all batters. It was also his ninth T20 hundred, leading the charts among all Indian batters. Rohit Sharma (seven) stands behind Kohli among Indians.

Furthermore, Kohli’s hundred also puts him third on the list of most T20 centuries among openers, only behind Chris Gayle (22) and Babar Azam (11).

While Kohli holds the overall record with eight centuries, his former RCB teammate Chris Gayle stands second with six triple-figure scores to his name including his 175 against Pune Warriors India, which is also the highest any batter has scored in a single IPL innings. It was also the fastest IPL hundred — off just 30 balls. David Warner, Shane Watson and KL Rahul have four hundreds each to their name while AB de Villiers, Sanju Samson and Shubman Gill had three.
