After powering his side past the 200-run mark with his fiery cameo and helping the hosts register a 34-run victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Dhruv Jorel reveals that he practices for three-four hours every day and how he is living his dream by sharing the field with MS Dhoni.

The batter said that he never felt that he faces lesser balls and that his aim is to utilise whatever 6-7 balls he gets and change the course of the game.

“My mantra is to bat and rest will take care of itself. I just played the situation. I’ve done three-four hours batting every day. I make sure I’m getting something from my batting,” Jurel said during the post-match conference.

“I try to keep the game simple. I know I can hit everywhere. Even if I play 6-7 balls, I know I can get big hits and totally change the game.”

“This is a spot which was given by the management so I practice like that. It doesn’t feel like if I’m getting runs or I have less balls, I’ve to score big runs, it doesn’t matter,” he added.

Dhruv Jurel smashed 34 off 15 balls alongside Devdutt Padikkal who remained unbeaten on 23 off 13 deliveries.

Adding more on his game plan, the young hitter said, “I’m very happy that we won the match. It’s a much-needed win for us. I’ve practiced enough. I have to hit six for every ball because I’ve done so many times so I couldn’t ask myself to do what I haven’t done in my batting practice.”

When asked about RR’s shortcomings in the season, Jurel said they don’t lack anything and that it’s the different situations that alter the results.

“See, we don’t lack anything. Every game is different and has different scenarios so we sometimes lack things and that is where we lose. But we learn from it and get better,” he said.

Jurel, who was run out by MS Dhoni by a bullseye throw, feels lucky to have been sharing the field with him and playing under his watchful eye.

“I’m fortunate enough to share the field with MS Dhoni. I have always dreamt of it. I don’t feel the pressure, I feel motivated. He’s behind me, he’s watching me, that’s enough for me,” he said.
