Imagine this: you’re a settler in a video game, hunting for a new home. Where do you build your village? How do you start farming? When crops fail, where do you find more food? With no motors, how do you travel far for trade? Throughout history, the elegant solution to most of these problems has been our rivers. For Earth Day, we pay tribute to this precious lifeline by reviving a classic word game.

How to solve a word search puzzle

1. Make sure to look left, right, vertical and diagonal on the grid.
2. Clues can be very specific, so read carefully. Keep an eye on any puns.
3. If an answer has uncommon letters (W, X, J etc.), find them first, then look for the corresponding word built around them.
4. Your speed affects scoring, so skip all clues you don’t know at first.
